Attended business meeting and the room was satisfactory. The facility is very dated and in need of a refresh. The hotel has a decent location being a few minutes from downtown and the airport as well.
First time here and wow.. it was one of the worst experiences Ive EVER had at a restaurant. Server didnt know what a vodka tonic was and didnt know what disaronno was. She forgot food from our order. Ordered a starter poutine which obviously had sat for 10 minutes before they brought it out with all the other food. The chef over cooked my steak, shrimp and rice to the point where the rice was all clumped together. I am so disappointed and will never be going there again.
George Dawson inn is on par price wise with the super 8 and other lower cost hotels in Dawson. The rooms are reasonably clean although the housekeeping staff did not clean my room after my first night in the hotel. The beds are comfortable and clean. The TV is on the small side. Likely 32 inch. The room has a radiant heater along one wall and a very small air conditioner. Neither is called upon to work too hard right now so I can't comment on their performance. The hotel is mostly quiet though the sound of footsteps does travel pretty clearly through the roof if you have a room above you which I do. The elevator is very old and slow. Overall, I would recommend the George Dawson if you're on a budget and want a comfortable stay, but I wouldn't expect the world.
Nice spot. Great rooms. Good restaurant. Free breakfast is reasonable. Breakfast drinks are approximately 1 sip. A bit loud at night. Someone was knocking on doors on my floor from 330 to 430 am.
Doesn't look like much from the outside but is a great little hotel. Rooms are large and clean, everything works perfectly and room has everything you need. Great laundry room and wonderful staff that are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. All around the perfect stop on Dawson Creek.
