Nice clean rooms with comfortable beds. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Friendly staff. Do you like trains!? Like I mean do you really like trains!? Complimentary with every visit is a train, which is obligated by law to sound its horn at crossings, and it passes only 52 feet from your bed. Guess where super 8 is located? That's right, a railroad crossing! Buckle up boys and girls, you're in for a hell of a ride.
First rule of customer service is empathize never sympathize. If your stay here don't forget anything in your room they don't really accommodate or empathize with your situation and will go as far as saying "well I guess you shouldn't have forgotten it" like charlene has never forgotten something before. But I mostly appreciated that statement being thrown in my face thank you for reminding of what I shouldn't have done while I rushe'd out at 6am to get to edmonton to see my dad is hospital. Her lil joke at my expense had her laughing but I was not amused.
Clean and spacious room with very comfortable king-sized bed and a pull-out sofa bed. The curtains are thick and block out the light (if you need to sleep during the day). Free breakfast provided with the regular spread of bread, bagels, muffins, pancakes, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon strips, juices, coffee, tea, fruits, yogurt etc. I find the selection adequate. The breakfast room is small but clean. The staff is friendly and courteous and greeted me with a smile when I checked in. Conveniently located on the main highway near many restaurants, Tim Hortons and other fast food joints.
We are traveling with two dogs. One large Boxer and a Miniature Pincher. The hotel is very pet friendly and the room was clean and well kept. This is not always true for too many pet rooms. We are staying at other Super 8 Hotels because or this great stay.
The super 8 is Dawson Creek is pretty conveniently located right along the highway and near grocery stores and fuel stations. It has a restaurant attached that gives a discount to hotel guests. The room is pretty standard. The beds are comfortable and the bedding and decor is dated but comfortable. The TV in the room is a good size but for some reason there are issues with the TV that means you have to change the input to the correct setting every time you turn it on. The first time I used it that solution worked fine, the second time despite changing it to the same input I had used earlier I still had no picture. I gave up short of calling the front desk for help. The WiFi is decently speedy and you can watch streaming video on it. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful.
