Delicious taste of India in the frozen north! Lots of not so spicy options for the more sensitive palette. Best coconut rice I've ever had!!
Honestly this place is for takeout only. I made the mistake of dining in. Very slow and poor service because they are not used to it. Only patron at dinner time seated in the restaurant and it probably took 45 minutes to get food, waited almost 10 minutes before my drink order was taken. Food was very bland, no spice at all (nor was I asked how spicy I would have liked it because I would have said very) and while I'm not an expert on indian food I would say it is not particularly authentic. Can't believe this place had a 4.6 star review at the time of writing this. One guy made the comment in a review that it's the best Indian food in a 300 mile radius which is absolutely not true there is an excellent place in Fort St. John and I'm guessing a better one in grande prairie though I've never had indian there. Suggest you go to Brown's Social House or Fixx instead.
Good food, not fast food. A great choice if you are looking for authentic Indian food. Be sure to order rice or naan bread as it is not included with the meal. It is a smaller restaurant so be prepared to wait. I recommend calling in and picking up. Make sure you confirm your order before hanging up though. The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala are excellent!
The Spicy Village has delicious food at reasonable prices! There are not a lot of choices for different ethnic foods around Dawson Creek. What a refreshing alternative!
Great South Indian food in Dawson Creek - unassuming, spartan restaurant serving amazing southern Indian cuisine. Seriously, take a detour and check this place out. I recommend the beef roast curry, onion bhaji, chicken korma, and the giant samosa. I've eaten a ton of Indian food in a lot of places, and this place is something special -- despite its unassuming interior and surroundings.Service inside was good, with dishes being served to the table as they arrived at the pass. However, may be better as a takeout place if you are in a huge hurry. My recommendation -- take the time, enjoy the tea, enjoy the appetizers, and eat well. The food and the people are something to savor.
